Adoptee Excellence Scholarship

Also-Known-As is thrilled to announce that the 2022 Adoptee Excellence Scholarship is live! 

Now in its fourth year, the Also-Known-As Adoptee Excellence Scholarship is open to Spring and Summer 2022 graduating high school senior and current undergraduate international adoptees who demonstrate the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and civic engagement. We seek candidates who have used their adoption story and formative youth experiences to lead, serve, and pursue a life of purpose and significance, both individually and for their communities. 

The winner of the scholarship will receive a one-time $1,500 scholarship to support their full-time study at an accredited institution. An all-adoptee scholarship committee will be responsible for selecting the scholarship recipient. 

To apply, applicants must carefully review all application instructions and submit all required documents. This includes: 

• Resume

• Four essay questions

• Official academic transcripts

• Personal expression 

• One letter of recommendation

The application deadline is April 29, 2022 at 11:59PM EST and must be submitted, via email, to scholarship@alsoknownas.org with the subject line: Scholarship Application 2022: Your Full Name.
